We headed into Sandusky Bay, slowly passing Cedar Point, listening to half pint rattle off all the rides he wanted to go on. Again, I reminded him he needs to eat, to grow big enough, to ride those rides, he's 7yo.
You will find Dockside Cafe in The Paper District of Downtown Sandusky. Enter the channel that parallels tight to the marinas heading SSW. Stay in this to The Sandusky Boat Basin, just as you get to a wave break on the starboard side.
The young lady at the marina was more than happy to assist us in getting into the dock and tied up. The floating concrete docks are absolutely spotless and are $10 for 4 hours(plus a tip). They do ask you use the row closest to the entrance to the marina.
There was plenty of room and depth to get our 41OAl trawler in.
Dockside Cafe has a great menus featuring a variety of "Hand Tray Cafe Foods" that rival some fine dining restaurants in presentation and flavor! The also have a full bar for an evening cocktail for the Capt'N during dinner(she doesn't operate, just me).
Half pint had a Single Burger and surprisingly ate all but the two bites Capt’n and I took. The burger was REALY GOOD! Well seasoned, juicy, and placed on a buttered bun.
Capt’n had Chicken Soft Tacos with a Tanguay and tonic. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a bite but she said they were good. The two tacos are served with a drizzle of lime aioli. We did come back the next weekend and I got the Chicken Soft Tacos, VERY TASTY!
I had a Chicken Quesadilla. Crispy, melty, chicken filled goodness! We all split a large order of fresh cut fries.
All in all it was a great experience. I would recommend trying! Don’t shy away if there a line, Theres a reason all the locals come here! The staff was hustling to get food and drinks out as fast as possible and kept things moving quickly!
As most of us in the service industry are aware of, there is a massive shortage of staff. Be patience and understanding!
